Well it’s only 2:00 here, and I’ve already been so productive. Earlier this morning, I went to the underground mall to get some tennis shoes and heels. Thankfully, I finally found some sport shoes that were acceptable. Then we had to go to the grocery store for dinner supplies; Tonight I am cooking Julie’s Lemon Chicken Pasta for the girls!! Dia is a small grocery store by our apartments, but it makes me miss PIGGLY WIGGLY so much (Dia stocks eggs on the shelf whhhaaatt??) The last few days have been very exciting here. Earlier this week, Philip from Trend Union (a fashion forecasting company) came to the school to give us a lecture about predicting future trends. As I explore each new city, I have to design a post card that illustrates a future trend that I believe will be popular (graded by Philip). Philip will be working with us for the remainder of our trip, and we are taking a trip to the studio soon!! On Wednesday night, went to Le Crocodile to celebrate one of the girl’s 21st birthday. Apparently Le Crocodile is one of the top ten places to go! We had a lot of fun, until we returned home. I think we were probably being too loud, because someone was beating on our door around 12:30. We were way too scared to open the door. Natalie and pink baby jumped in bed with Ash and me, and I practically stayed awake all night. Last night, I went to Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. It was such a “Devil Wear’s Prada” moment for me. It was really interesting and exciting to see, but the event is only really fun for the invitees. It was still nice to walk around and see all the designer stores. One day, I WILL be invited to Chanel’s showing…I can only dream.

Whose Next Prét à Porter
My first weekend in Paris was amazing! On Sunday, I took an eight hour tour of the city with everyone. We stopped for a quick photo shoot at the Eiffel tower and then went to a huge market (where I purchased adorable black flats). By the time we got back to our apartment, I was exhausted. I haven’t walked so much in a long time, but I love seeing all the sites especially during my favorite season. Instead of attending class yesterday, we toured a showroom in Paris for the Whose Next Prét à Porter. I also saw two fashion shows. The experience was awesome; I got to see all the new trends for next season. This spring, you can expect to see lots of orange, blues, corals, and yellows. The prairie/pheasant look will also be big and lots of sequins and bows! The fashion shows were amazing; we were front row for one! Being this close to fashion has only inspired me and reminded me how passionate I am about my upcoming career in the industry. Today, Ana Burk came to speak with our class about the opportunities available with Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh (who dresses Lady Gaga!). Turns out, I will be working the shows in September and I will be working in the Rick Owens main floor showroom in October! I am thrilled to have these opportunities and learn from the creative minds I will be working with!

Bonjour Paris
Well I have FINALLY arrived!! After months of preparation...I am finally in PARIS! On Wednesday, we were greeted by Peter (the Paris American President) and Tim at the airport with a kiss on each cheek! Then we had to make our way to the metro, and travel to our apartments. Our modern apartment is nice and small, but soon I'm sure it will start feeling more like home. The school is located about a block from my apartment and is pretty easy to get to. The last few days I have been making my way through Paris and settling in. School has been very exciting!! We already had a french designer, Xavior Bousix give a lecture to our class!! Food has been interesting...I'm not a fan of the Croque Monsieur but I LOVE chocolate crepes! Last night we toured the city for the first time, and the Eiffel Tower was stunningly beautiful especially when it sparkled!! I have already fallen in love with this beautiful city!!
